Give Where You Live—Christmas 2020

Published on 11/20/2020

Special
Christmas Requests

Although this is an uncertain financial time for all of us, KCYC is striving to find ways that we can still give back to our community as we join the fight against Coronavirus. While, as an organization, we have chosen to support the "ShareNet Christmas Project" this year, there are many other groups that could use your support this year. If you can donate to keep the services flowing, we know they would greatly appreciate it.

ShareNet Christmas Project
Christmas Giving Project

This year KCYC has taken on a Christmas project to fill Christmas boxes for ShareNet. The goal is to raise $1,000 to fund at least 20 Christmas boxes.

The ShareNet Food Bank is an organization serving the Greater Kingston Area and is located in the industrial park on SR104 close to Four Corners. To learn more about ShareNet, click the following link: https://www.sharenetfoodbank.org/about-us/

Family Christmas Project—The Coffee Oasis is soliciting cash donations of $50 which they use to buy gifts for families in need. You can find out more by contacting daniel.kluth@thecoffeeoasis.com.

For many of our youth, Thanksgiving and Christmas are two reminders every year that they have fallen through the cracks—they have been lost and forgotten.  We all long for the experience of walking into a room and feeling wanted; it’s the feeling of finally being home. Together we can make this experience possible for hundreds of youth. We call it: Family Christmas Project.

Kingston Cares

Our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness are vulnerable to infection by the Corona Virus, and they are more likely to have severe cases due to their circumstances. There is an urgent need for supplies and equipment. Kingston Cares will also be continuing their Food4Kids program and anticipate increased needs as the schools remain closed. Thanks to our KCYC members, Jane and Stan Mack, for founding this organization.

The Filling Station Restaurant—All Teens Matter

The Filling Station has a tree for the Organization called "All Teens Matter". You can go there and pick up a card from the tree to give to a teenager in need. This benefits teens in North Kitsap and Mason Counties, not just Kingston. To find out more about this organization, go to allteensmatter.com.
