Danny Vernon Performs a Live Streaming Event from KCYC

The Kingston Cove Yacht Club and the Port of Kingston presented Danny Vernon and his wife, Marcia, in a live-streaming Facebook event of Christmas Carols and holiday entertainment directly from the yacht club. Danny Vernon (as Elvis) has brought the music of Christmas to Kingston Cove Christmas and the countdown to turning on the amazing lights at the Port Kingston for many years. Although we weren’t in Mike Wallace Park, we reached around 14,000 people on Facebook and over 2500 people engaged with us including 68 shares. In Facebook language, that is a lot of folks!

Although we couldn’t gather this year for Kingston Cove Christmas we kept the tradition alive with our own production! Through the relentless effort of our own Steve Young, the idea began to take shape and the Port of Kingston Commission agreed to partner with us. The production crew arrived early on Tuesday afternoon and the set up began. Never has there been that much electronic equipment at KCYC - cameras, mics, mixers, speakers, lights and cords and wires everywhere.

At showtime, the music went live and the comments began to flow. There were over 250 people from both coasts and Memphis TN watching and they continued to comment and share the video throughout the broadcast. Danny and Marcia wowed our viewers and our viewers responded with excitement and admiration.

The production was funded by the Port of Kingston and executed by KCYC. What a great partnership. The event created great exposure for our little town and for the yacht club. If you see our friends at the Port, give them a big thank you. If you see a member of our production team, give them a thumbs up!
