Let's all be in the know going into Canada on the KCYC Victoria Cruise.
Here are links to documents I've uploaded to our club website that you may want to review for this trip.
This is a lot of material. Probably most important is:
- Report in by phone when in Canadian waters by calling (888) 226-7277 or first going to the Victoria Harbor customs dock and using the dock phone. Only the operator my get off the boat until you are provided a report number. Have all your passenger information with you for the call. The border services officer will let you know if an inspection will be required.
- NEXUS members (everyone on board must be NEXUS members) may call (866) 996-3987 between 30 minutes and 4 hours before arriving in Canada for potential expedited entry clearance.
- Canada prohibits bringing in some stuff so be prepared to declare if in doubt. Not declaring and this stuff found during an inspection could make a very BAD day for you. The border services officers are pretty good with asking if you have any of the prohibited items on board including cannabis, firearms, excessive alcohol, or prohibited food.
- Follow the provided traffic scheme when entering the busy Victoria Harbor. They are strict on where you can transit.
- Upon arrival to the marina, hail your marina on VHF channel 66A for your slip assignment. They will try their best to group us together.
