A Message from our NEW Commodore
I am very excited to be representing our members and yacht club in the coming year. Thank you to our members for having faith in myself and the current board. A huge thank you to Sandi and the previous board for everything they accomplished in the past year. It’s so impressive the number of new members that joined our club during the challenges we faced over the past year and a half.
A little bit about myself and my family. My husband, Tony, Past Commodore, and myself own The Kingston Ale House. We’ve enjoyed being a part of our community and stay involved in several organizations like the Kathleen Sutton Fund, Kingston Fourth of July, and many others. We have a second home in Carefree, Arizona, where Tony loves to soak up the sun. He’s able to spend quite a bit of time there, as he works from home as Technical Program Manager for UnifyCloud. We love boating and have had boats since 2000. We currently have a Bayliner 340, the “Southern Jewelle”, named after my beautiful mother-in-law, Marjorie Jewelle. We look forward to the cruising season in 2022! We have one daughter, Morgan, who works for Amazon Web Services as a Senior Manager, PNW, Enterprise Sales. She lives in Lake Forest Park with our funny and darling grandson, Peyton, who is in 4th grade this year. Peyton loves sailing every summer with Sail Kingston Cove.
Thank you to everyone that helped make the Commodores Ball an amazing evening! Gloria & Steve Young for the decorations, flowers, and setup! Karen & Neil Parker for the decorations, setup, and check in! Karen & Pete Waite for helping Darcy with glassware and the music! Jerry Andrews for clean up! Sandi & Ken for the amazing menu, setup and decorations! And finally, to The Kingston Ale House crew, Andy, Harrison, Trevor, Gianni, Susan and Barb for a wonderful meal!
We have some great events coming up for the remainder of this year, so don’t miss out! Halloween/Day of the Dead should be full of funny bones, frightful moments, witches brew, and ghoulish tasty bites! November is our annual Family Turkey Dinner, which is always a treat and a great time to reflect on our blessings, family, and friendships. Tony will be thankful for the 3 rd Annual Whiskey tasting in November! And then there is December….so much fun to be had by all!
Here’s to finishing out 2021 with laughter, love, family, and friends!
