We're Making Masks

Published on 4/6/2020
Our KCYC Seamstresses are hard at work!
Your masks will be available soon.
And if you haven't already requested a mask,
don't worry—we have you covered—we have plenty!
Each person will receive two masks —one for personal use and one to pass to someone else in need. Micki at D’Vine Wine is providing a collection point and availability will begin Tuesday, April 6th. Click the link below to send an email to either:
1. let us know if you would like to request a mask; or
2. find out when you can pick up the masks you've already ordered.
And while you’re at Micki's, pick up a great three course dinner! And a bottle of wine of course. Her hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4-8 pm and Friday and Saturday 2-9 pm. Her menu is on her Facebook page. Call ahead to place your order at (360) 297-3010.
I'd like to request a mask.
Tell me when I can pickup the masks I already requested.
KCYC values the health of our members and that of the community and is happy to provide masks to our members and to the community. Remember that the masks are to be used in addition to all of the other social distancing measures. Many thanks to Nancy Martin for creating the kits and donating the fabric and elastic. Also thanks to our sewers Kathy Showman, Robin Lott, Gloria Young, Walter Viereck, Kim Page, Sandy Dalgleish, and Nancy Martin.

CDC Guidelines for OVCID-19 now recommend Americans wear masks while in public spaces. Dr Fauci, the leading medical scientist on the Federal Coronavirus Task Force, discusses below why the CDC is changing their stance.

"The better part of valor when you’re out and you can’t maintain that six-foot distance is to wear some type of facial covering. An important point to emphasize though is that you should never take away the availability of the masks that are needed for the health care providers who are in real present danger. So this is an addition to the physical separation, not as a substitute for it.”
